Gene Summary

Gene Symbol
IL17A

Model Description

A iCre-polyA expression cassette was knocked into the Il17a gene start codon site. This gene encodes a pro-inflammatory cytokine that is a member of the interleukin-17 family. When crossed with a strain carrying a gene flanked by loxP sites, the flanked gene will be removed in cells expressing cre. This strain may be useful for studying autoimmune inflammatory diseases such as rheumatoid arthritis, psoriasis and multiple sclerosis.
Research Application:Cre recombinase tool; T helper cell

Tdtomato expression can also be observed in some cells of the thymus and in individual cells of lung, kidney and liver. (For more detailed information please contact our technical advisor.)
